Cortijo La
Haza is a 250 year old traditional Cortijo (farmhouse) surrounded
by olive trees and set in a peaceful location amongst rolling
hills on the edge of the Subbética Natural Park near to the
Embalse de Iznájar (“The Lake of Andalucia”). This small and
friendly establishment has recently been sympathetically restored
to provide comfortable Bed and Breakfast accommodation
All
five guest bedrooms have en-suite facilities and are furnished
with traditional Andalucian furniture. Cortijo La Haza also has
a lounge, bar, dining room, patio-dining area, garden, swimming
pool, and sun terrace. During the colder months a log burning
stove provides cosy warmth to the lounge and dining room, and
all bedrooms are heated by radiators. All facilities are for the
exclusive use of residents.
Breakfast
and Evening Dinner are served in our small dining room or, during
the summer months, in the patio courtyard.
Meals
are home-cooked and wholesome, prepared from fresh local produce,
and reflect a blend of Spanish and International dishes.
Vegetarians and those with special dietary needs are very well
catered for.
Cortijo
La Haza, set high on a hillside with spectacular views over the
surrounding countryside, is the perfect venue for guests wishing
to escape to the real Spain for total relaxation and is also well
located for those seeking a comfortable base from which to explore
the “treasures” of Andalucia.
Cortijo
La Haza is very well situated: 50 minutes drive from Malaga and
Granada Airport, less than two hours from Sevilla, 1 hour from
Granada city, 90 minutes from Córdoba, and approximately 5 hours
from Madrid. The resorts of the Costa del Sol, Costa Tropical, and
Costa de Almeria are all easily accessible by car. The
itineraries of our guests regularly include Ronda, The Sierra
Nevada, El Torcal Natural Park (Antequera),The Alpujarras,
Gibraltar, Priego de Córdoba and other towns and villages of the
Subbética Natural Park.
Cortijo
La Haza is ideal for short breaks or longer holidays at all times
of the year. The immediate area provides an extensive range of
activities and excursions for all seasons.
The nearby,
unspoilt traditional white walled, red-roofed village of Iznájar
with its castle dating from the 8th century, and church from the
16th century, has spectacular views over a 32km long lake which
hosts a variety of water-sports and fishing. Safe bathing is
enjoyed from its sandy Valdearenas Beach.
